Neurodiversity

Hypnotherapy for Neurodiversity

If you are neurodiverse then you will already know that you are exposed to higher levels of stress as your brain is functioning differently to the expected norm. Whether you have challenges with concentration and focus, learning pace and style, or other learning and environmental challenges associated with Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, ADHD, Sensory Processing Sensitivity or Autism, hypnotherapy can be extremely helpful in reducing stress levels and developing resilience and self confidence to help you cope better in what is a predominantly neurotypical world.

Sensory Processing Sensitivity or High Sensitivity is relatively unknown despite it being approximated that 20% of the population are Highly Sensitive People. High Sensitivity is a biological trait which results in you feeling more, noticing more and processing more due to a more sensitive nervous system. Highly Sensitive People are characterised as being deeply empathic, thoughtful and easily overwhelmed by sensory information – touch, sight, sound, taste or movement. Stress levels are therefore much higher and overwhelm is a frequent result. It is not uncommon for the experience of stress to be so uncomfortable that any stressful situations become avoided (often unconsciously). Hypnotherapy is extremely helpful to reduce stress levels, recognise and acknowledge triggers to stress and build on the strengths that being Highly Sensitive offer.
