How Hypnotherapy Helped Me With Menopause
“I hadn’t slept well for many years since I started the menopause and I had not realised just how badly my life had been effected by it because it was such a slow degeneration. I was physically tired all the time, even resorting to afternoon naps just to get through the day, I was short tempered, prone to outbursts and having negative thoughts all the time, which was not like me previously. I felt like I didn’t have any good emotions as I couldn’t feel joy or happiness or get any pleasure out of what I did even with my horses, which was a huge concern to me as I had lost all motivation. I had noticed that my coordination was poor as I kept dropping things which again, was so unlike me and then one day I had an accident causing concussion and it was then that I realised that I had to do something about it. A friend of mine who had visited Emma previously, suggested that I go and talk to her but even during my initial consultation, I still wasn’t convinced that it would work, but I felt that I just had to try something to change my life.
I really enjoyed Emma’s company and of course, her positive outlook on life and after my very first session, I began to notice a slight difference in the way I felt, which grew and grew every time that I visited her. I got to the stage when I couldn’t wait to go back as I knew it was working and instead of thinking that nothing was ever going to change in my life again, I gradually realised that there was hope and I felt positive for the first time in years. I particularly enjoyed our chats as it gave me the opportunity to talk to someone who understood I felt but also the short sessions on the bed when I could really relax and afterwards I would feel invigorated from them.
I have experienced a complete change in myself since my 12 sessions and I feel confident about the future as I now feel that I have control of myself again, but if I should feel myself sliding back I know that I have a way to stop that and get back to being positive again. I now sleep well and even when I wake up I am confident that I can go back to sleep easily. I know that I dream a lot more which is good for me and I wake up refreshed and ready to tackle the day ahead. My energy levels are good so that I can now have a full day which in my case is all physical work my horses and dogs. I am looking forward to the future with excitement and even have some plans that I am considering at the moment. I was dreading my 60th birthday before I met Emma but now I want to make the next decade the best years of my life while I am still fit and have the energy to do all the things that I want to.
I think every single person can benefit from hypnotherapy even if they don’t think they have a problem in their lives and it should be widely available to everyone. Particularly women suffering from the menopause, the benefits are enormous and should be explained to them because there is no need to suffer as I did for over 12 years.”
