I work with clients who need support around anxiety, depression and a range of other stress-related symptoms. I offer a positive, solution focused hypnotherapy approach through online and in-person sessions from my practice in Newcastle upon Tyne.

I help people find the right way forward for them. Many have struggled to live their lives in the way they thought they should. Some are in a position where they seem to have everything they have ever wanted but still don’t feel that calmness or happiness they thought they would.

My education background, interests and life experiences have been incredibly varied. This has really helped me to connect with, and support, clients of all ages with a variety of needs. They have all experienced stress or anxiety in their own unique way, but I feel it is essential to choose the therapist that suits you as an individual.

It is an absolute privilege to work with people as a solution focused hypnotherapist. I get to see my clients start to understand their own needs and I witness those lightbulb moments when things begin to change. People often don’t know what it is they really want until it is happening.

My Experience

I have been a teacher and senior leader in primary education for the last 30 years. I have a real passion for developing the life chances and mental health of children, their parents, carers and families.

My vast experience of coaching and mentoring means it felt like a very natural transition into solution focused hypnotherapy.

I now work with children and adults to enable them to formulate their own strategies to manage stress or anxiety. I work with clients on an individual basis but also offer group talks around brain research and a positive approach to mental health.

Jill came into our office to run a session focused on mental wellbeing, resilience, and sleep. She was warm, engaging, and made everyone feel comfortable. The session was really interesting and calming, with techniques we could take away and use. It sparked some really great conversations amongst the team and we all left feeling much happier.

I've had therapy before, used apps and watched countless videos, but the way you explained how our mind is made up, how it works, the chemical reactions to certain things and how we can better help ourselves was really helpful, it's made a massive difference to me and to the rest of the team that were in the session, thank you!

I recently completed 8 sessions with Jill whist recovering from knee surgery and feeling generally down. Jill showed me coping mechanisms on how to focus on the positives. She gave me insight into how my mind was working and how my stress bucket was full and showed me ways to empty this effectively. She taught me the importance of positive actions, interactions and positive thoughts and not dismissing the little things that I maybe didn't think of as positive in the moment. I really enjoyed my sessions with Jill, the therapy have me time out of the day to feel calm, relaxed and refreshed and to make me feel well again. I would absolutely recommend Jill and will use her again in the future if needed.

Working with Jill has been an amazing experience from the start to the end. Working with Jill has been a life changing experience for me!For the last few years I have at times struggled with anxiety, however in October last year I was in a very difficult place, lost all my confidence and felt stuck. Jill at Inspired to Change has been fantastic. We worked together to resolve an anxiety issue , and after just a few sessions I am vastly improved and will improve completely with a little practice and possibly a top up session in the future.Jill is calm and reassuring, and it’s so nice to be heard and not made to feel silly for being anxious in certain situations. Having been terrified of taking off and turbulence on a plane for years, after three sessions with Jill I am no longer afraid. My husband couldn't believe I wasn't digging my nails into his arm on take off. We even flew through bad weather and the turbulence didn't bother me at all. So pleased with the results of my therapy. More About Me

I have seen for myself the real impact solution focused hypnotherapy can have when you understand your own brain and what it is trying to do.

Throughout my life I have experienced loss, trauma, long hours and stress at work. I have also been through hip replacements and many of the day-to-day challenges faced by a working mother of two gorgeous boys.

I have an extremely supportive network around me. I have experienced counselling and a range of other suggested activities, but understanding my own brain and how it reacts to ‘perceived danger’ was a game-changer for me. I want everyone to have that skill. Don’t get me wrong, my stress bucket can fill up, but I can now recognise it and act on it.

I am a naturally positive person, which I am always grateful for, but sometimes we need to dig deep and maybe need help to do this. It is a privilege for me to support others and see them not just get to ‘ok’, but to thrive. I love the moment when someone realises they have surpassed the ‘hope for the future’ they gave me at the free initial consultation.
