The Power of Small Actions: Introducing Our Inspired To Change Wellbeing Bingo Boards
What if improving your wellbeing didn’t require a complete life overhaul…
but simply a series of small, intentional actions each day?
That’s exactly why we’ve created the Inspired To Change Wellbeing Bingo Boards – to help you take simple, consistent steps to GET Better, COPE Better and BE Better.
Because when it comes to wellbeing, small actions really do lead to big change.
Why do small actions matter?
Our mental wellbeing is shaped by what’s happening in our brain. When we take positive actions, we create a powerful cocktail of “happy hormones” in our brain. Four of our key happy hormones are:
- Dopamine – helping to drive motivation and reward
- Oxytocin – encouraging connection and trust
- Serotonin – stabilising mood and confidence
- Endorphins – helping us cope with stress, discomfort and pain.
When these chemicals are balanced, we feel more motivated, resilient and able to cope with everyday challenges.
And the good news is, we can intentionally boost these happy hormones through how we think, how we act and how we interact with others.
The Three Principles of Positivity
In our practice rooms, we often talk to our clients about the Three Principles of Positivity (the 3Ps) and our Wellbeing Bingo Boards are built around these same simple principles:
Positive Thought
What we think impacts how we feel and how we behave, influencing the outcomes we create for ourselves.
When we focus on positive thoughts (like focusing on what we want, what we can do, what’s going well and looking for opportunities), we’re more likely to feel hopeful, capable and in control.
Positive Action
We often talk to our clients about the importance of taking small steps. Each small step (getting outside, moving your body, or doing something enjoyable) activates the brain’s reward system and releases dopamine, motivating us to keep going.
Positive Interaction
Humans have evolved to be a social species, and our brains are wired for connection. Positive interactions with others (both humans and animals) helps us feel supported, valued and connected, this boosts confidence and reduces stress through the release of oxytocin.
How does bingo help?
Each square on the Inspired To Change Wellbeing Bingo board is designed to activate at least one of these Three Principles of Positivity, helping you to naturally “DOSE” up your brain with the Happy Hormones that support better wellbeing.
Each day, choose one small action that feels right for you, keeping each activity small and achievable, yet meaningful too.
How to use your bingo board:
Choose one or more actions each day
- Tick them off as you go
- Celebrate completing a line… or even a full house!
Go at your own pace – it’s about progress, not perfection. Forward is forward!
